My Handyman Husband

After a trip to Walmart and Home Depot Jared was ready to spend the day building some things from wood... he decided to start with an end table for the living room. He hopes to also build a coffee table and a shelving unit for all our pictures in frames. He looks pretty serious when he is out there using his saw and his drill and measuring everything to be just right. I decided to go through a few things in the garage to help with some of the mess, and then go in the house and stay out of his way. I can't wait to see the final product!

Kristin, Ryan, and Cora

Today I got to visit with some old friends and one new friend, they were in town for Ryan's work and I was very lucky to be able to see them. Cora is 3 months old now, I can't believe how big she is already! It was a good day of visiting and getting a little taste of the baby life. Just hope our little girl is as laid back.

First Ever Roasted Chicken

Tonight I decided to roast a whole chicken, looked on the computer a bit for ideas didn't really find any that I liked so I just did the most simple things. Stuffed it with onion, celery and carrots. Salted it and put some pepper, oregano, thyme and garlic powder on the skin and put it in the oven for an hour and a half at 375'. Cooked it uncovered for 40 minutes to crisp the skin up and 180' it was done. I crossed my fingers as Jared cut into it hoping it was good, came out perfect! Next time I would put a rack under it so that the bottom doesn't get so soggy. It was moist and flavorful, needed a little salt. The dogs enjoyed the scraps too!

Super Bowl Feast

Go Packers!!! I think it may have been this winning meal that helped them seal the victory! Pizza crust off my parents blog, never knew you had to let the yeast rest and foam guess I was killing it every time. Oh and kneading the dough???? So I must say it was the best I have made yet. Jared made the wings in our deep fryer, they were nice and crisp on the outside no soggy nasty wings! YUM!
