Julia has decided that she wants to be a part of all the cooking fun, she has to be close to or in the kitchen when Jared and I are cooking. She really enjoys playing with and chewing on all the cooking utensils. Her favorites are the rubber measuring cups and the rubber spatulas. What did you think I was going to say the knives??
Julia has been enjoying all the new foods that she gets to try, and now that she is 6 months old she can try even more. Some of her favorites are sweet potatoes and sweet peas. Today she has some oatmeal and prunes... a little scared to see what is in her diaper later today. She went to her 6 month appointment to get her check up and some shots this past Friday. Daddy got to come for the first time! She weighs 18 lbs and 11 oz and is 28 1/4 inches tall. She has been jumping in her jumper and rolling all over getting strong and burning off some of that baby fat. She is still a happy baby and loves to stick out her tongue at everyone.
I caught Julia in the act the other day, she was trying to hide it but I got my camera just in time. 
Today Julia and Jared watched some football, she wore her Cowboys outfit but we didn't get to watch the game because we live too far from Texas. If you noticed all the blankets on the floor, that is because she is rolling all over and we have hardwood floors. Baby heads and hardwood floors don't mesh well together. Shortly after this picture was taken she tipped over and bumped her head and was not too happy.
Nothing like hanging out on a Saturday after a long week, it's flu shot season so we have to give like 600 shots in the next few weeks. Didn't get mine yet because my little carrier monkey gave me her cold and I don't want to chance being more sick. We are off to do some shopping now, hope everyone has a great weekend.
On Saturday Julia went to her first little kid Birthday party. One of the guys at my work's son was turning 2 and they had his party at the little community water park. Which I might add is about 5 minutes from the house! We had a really good time playing in the water and looking at all the kids playing and going down the slides. We will for sure go back when Julia gets a little bigger so we can go on some of the little kid slides.
We celebrated our one year anniversary on Saturday, we went on a very romantic date and even had two babysitters. We started out by having dinner at Papa's Ranch we both had steak with all the fixings. Then we went miniature golfing, played in the arcade and even both got in the batting cage and hit some balls. I knew Jared would do good because he actually played baseball in high school and was good. I surprised myself and pretty sure Jared too by hitting almost all 25 balls some pretty far! It was a good night, we even enjoyed our year old wedding cake. It was actually very good and it was super moist.
