Knock You Naked Brownies

Pioneer Woman strikes again, I made the brownies that she calls "Knock You Naked Brownies".  More like knock you thirsty, they are so rich you need to drink a gallon of milk with them.  They are so good though!  I didn't put the nuts in, because I do not like nuts.  The bowl of brownies I sent with Jared underway to give to the crew, and the others I took to work to get rid of.  Things like this are dangerous to keep at the house.  To anyone who loves food and loves to cook, I strongly recommend both of the Pioneer Women Cook's cook books.

Pioneer Woman Strawberry Shortcake Cake

This I think may have been the first cake ever that I have made from scratch.  It was well worth it, and actually pretty easy to do.  The cake its self was very dense, and the frosting was a cream cheese frosting made with more powder sugar then you can imagine.  If  I make this again I will use more strawberries between the layers, and I will use less frosting or maybe substitute whip cream.  It was just a little too sweet even for me, don't get me wrong I would eat a whole tub of this frosting.  I would give this recipe a 8/10. Love my two cook books though from the Pioneer Woman, thanks Haley and Jackie.  We have also made the Cherry Lime-Aide, and the Tequilla Lime Chicken.  All really good and Jared even said the Cherry Lime-Aide taste almost as good as Texas Sonic.  I will have to post more pictures from the cook book.  Mine is the top photo, didn't have a pretty plate or a circle cake pan...

Oh Julia

We will go ahead and call this the Redneck Sippy Cup... Julia calls it "wawa".  When she is outside she wants to have her "wawa" in the silver can.  We had a good time this weekend just relaxing in the pool, and enjoying good BBQ, and great friends.  I'm so glad that Julia loves the water as much as Jared and I do.  We can't keep her out of it now, she even kicks her legs and blows bubbles in the water.  This weekend she figured out how fun it was to jump in the pool into my arms, and to be tossed up into the air.

This is Julia's new pool, it also has a slide and palm tree.  She was actually in her clothes in these pictures, which is rare.  I will try to down load the video's of her swimming, pictures are just too slow to catch her busy body.  The last one is our portable vegetable garden with some tomatoes, peppers, and beans.

Can You Believe

Could you believe that this sweet faced little girl could ever do anything wrong?
Today Julia decided she wanted to swim in her pool which she loves very much, but she was still in her clothes and regular diaper.  She did a belly flop into the pool and I decided to just let it slide this time. She was so happy and splashed around the pool and blew bubbles and kick, kick, kicked and everything.  After a few minutes I decided to get the wet clothes off, and the diaper that had almost tripled in size, since it was the super dry max kind.  She was free as a bird splashing around having a great time.  I decided I better get a little swimmer on her before we had an accident in the little pool.  We went inside and headed to her room, she squealed down the hallway and ran into her room laughing the whole way.  I followed and went right to the closet to get the diaper, and Julia headed to her hair bow holder to pull them off.  As I turned to get her little naked butt into a diaper,  I saw something on the floor.  It was POOP!!! She had pooped on the floor, and was in the process of telling me ewww and pointing to it. Our sweet little baby girl POOPED on the floor....

Summer Is Here!
